Note- Make sure you have the permissions to update the custom attribute.You can update permissions by going to Configure Project ->Manage Roles ->Required → Manage Roles → Required Requirement Type eg Functional Requirements -> → Select Updatable attributes ->Select → Select Update.

8. If you want to append a custom attribute ,the appended value will be added at the end of attribute.
